A downloadable game for Windows

Full Release for my First game!

A Sci-Fi RPG about JDog "Primeval Mask" and his 3 friends going on a journey to stop the nefarious Big George and his goons from enacting their evil plot. With lots of puzzles, battles, secrets, 3 different endings and a story about friendship and confronting baggage from the past. Made in RPG Maker MV for the https://itch.io/jam/robot-party-jam-2023.

Created by EchoFringe49 with art by myself and  Jack (designs for George, JDog, Aurora) Base enemy sprites and tilesets came with RPGMaker,  character generator used for Mary and some NPCs. Music by me (Soundcloud Page) with a few additional copyright free tracks from Pixabay. Full credits at end of game.

Important Notes: Everyone, please save Botswain's level (fourth)  for last.

For game jam judges and Kyle, the game in its current state takes roughly an hour. To keep the game at around 30 minutes, I recommend picking up the item next to the jetpack, it significantly shortens game time. It also makes the game a lot easier, but thems the breaks!

Controls (game controller not tested):

arrow keys to move, z/enter/space/left click to confirm and press interact, x/esc/right click to open menu and press back, j to jump, p to jetpack

There are a few bugs and things I didn't get to iron out. If you find one, pls DM me!

  1. One is a bug involving the roulette wheels, occasionally they won't appear when triggered.  In that situation, just press confirm and it'll stop within a few seconds.
  2. There are rare triggers where your party will stop appearing as followers.
  3. NPC sprites will often glitch out and look strange.
  4. Not a bug but there are a few face portraits I or Jack didn't have to time to draw. For those, I just used RPGM MV's character generator and base sprites.
  5. Monitors with high refresh rate might be moving too quickly/text scrolls too fast.

I just remembered this game again after playing and loving it during the game jam, and just wanted to tell you how much I love the writing in this. The comedy is some of the funniest stuff I've seen in games, it's just so good.
